Easy Hot Fudge Sauce Recipe
A thick fudgy chocolate sauce that is smooth and simple to make. This recipe uses ingredients that you already have on hand like cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk and light corn syrup.
Hot fudge sauce makes the best ice cream sundaes. Poor sauce over vanilla ice cream & top with your favorite ice cream toppings.
Serve hot fudge sauce with pancakes, cakes, crepes or chocolaty drinks like hot chocolate and cafe mocha.

How to make hot fudge sauce

1 – MIX INGREDIENTS
Add unsweetened cocoa powder and white sugar in a small heavy saucepan. Combined milk and syrup together. Mix into the coco powder and sugar in the small sauce pan.
2 – COOK THE SAUCE
On stove top, bring the coco mixture to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring continuously. Cook for 1 min and remove from heat.
3 – ADD BUTTER & VANILLA
Cut cold unsalted butter into 1″ or cubes. Stir cold butter cubes into hot chocolate mixture until blended. Add vanilla extract and mix well. Fudge sauce will thicken as it cools.
4 – COOL SAUCE
Poor hot fudge sauce into a shallow dish and cover it with plastic wrap. Seal out any air bubbles so the sauce does not get a skin on top. Let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Refrigerate and keep the sauce in an airtight container, it will stay good for a long time (up to 3 weeks).
WHAT TO SERVE WITH HOT FUDGE ICE CREAM SAUCE
A great way to serve hot fudge sauce is over a scoop of ice cream or one of my favorite desserts a banana split. Add sliced bananas, ice cream, whipped cream, fudge sauce and chopped nuts. Go for that cherry on top if you need a little something extra.

HOW TO MAKE AHEAD AND FREEZE:
To make ahead: Prepare hot fudge sauce and store in an airtight container in your fridge. Hot fudge sauce will last up to 3 weeks ahead of time. Warm up over the stove or in the microwave. If using the microwave be sure to stir the fudge sauce every 30 seconds so it does not burn.
To freeze: Let the hot fudge cool completely before storing it in a freezer safe container or bag. To thaw frozen fudge sauce: place the frozen container in the refrigerator overnight. Reheat on the stove in a medium saucepan over medium low heat. For a microwave place in a microwavable safe bowl, be sure to stir every 15-30 seconds.

Ingredients
½ cup Hershey’s cocoa
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup evaporated milk
⅓ cup light corn syrup
⅓ cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- Sift unsweetened cocoa powder into a medium heavy sauce pan.
- Add white sugar, blend together.
- Mix milk and corn syrup into the cocoa powder mixture.
- Bring the coco mixture to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring continuously. Cook for 1 minute, don’t stop stirring.
- Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla until mixed.
