Ingredients

  • For Apple Pudding Cake:
  • For the apple pudding cake:

  • 2 c. sugar

  • 1/2 c. soft butter

  • 2 eggs (room temperature)

  • 4 c. shredded apples (with skin)

  • 2 c. flour

  • 2 tsp soda

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

  • Ingredients For Apple Pudding Sauce:
  • 1 c. sugar

  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon

  • 2 c. water

  • 1 Tbsp vanilla

  • 1 Tbsp nutmeg

  • 3 Tbsp Cornstarch

  • 6 Tbsp butter

  • 1/8 tsp lemon extract 85%

Directions For pple pudding cake Butter Sauce

  • Cream sugar and butter together & one egg at a time.
  • Mix dry ingredients together (except nuts).
  • Add dry ingredients into egg mixture and mix
  • Fold in shredded apple and nuts into mixture with a rubber spatula or spoon
  • Pour mixture into a prepared 9″ x 13″ ovenproof casserole dish.
  • Bake 350°F for 45 minutes or until done.
  • Directions for Spiced Apple Pudding Sauce
  • Whisk all ingredients together in a small sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil and continue whisking for 1 minuet.
  • Pour directly over warm cake.

Notes

  • Quick Tip: Start to make apple pudding sauce when cake is almost done cooking.
  • Prepare a 9 x 13″ baking dish: Add small pat of cold butter to the baking dish, cover all sides and bottom with a thin layer of butter. Add a little flour to the pan and tilt from side to side. Coat all sides and bottom of pan with flour. Tap out any excess flour from baking pan.
  • How to make apple pudding in 2 days: make the apple pudding cake recipe, let it cool and store in the refrigerator the day before or freeze until you need it. Make apple pudding sauce recipe the day of. Let cake warm up to room temperature and pour the warm spiced apple pudding sauce over the top to serve.
