Fresh apples baked with a simple crumb crust pudding. This recipe makes a 9″x13″ family dessert or bake 6 single serving ramekins. Serve warm with ice cream or make an oat streusel topping for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup flour

  • 2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup butter

  • 1 cup chopped nuts

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 egg

  • 2 apples shredded

Simple Apple Pudding – Directions

  • Mixed together flour, brown sugar and butter.
  • Press 2 3/4 cup flour mixture into a 9 x 13″ cake pan or 6 baking ramekins.
  • Mix the remaining ingredients together.
  • Pour into cake pan on top of flour mixture. Spread evenly over the first layer.
  • Bake 350°F for 25 to 35 minutes or until done.

Notes

  • Apple Pudding Dessert Serving Suggestions: Serve warm with whip cream or ice cream.
  • Apple Pudding Breakfast Serving Suggestions: Top with streusel topping before baking. (Follow Streusel Oat Topping Below)
  • How To Make Streusel Oat Topping: Crumble together 1/2 cup each of rolled oats, brown sugar, soft butter add 1 tbsp flour and mix until crumbly. Spread evenly over the top of the unbaked apple pudding. Bake 30 minutes or until done.
  • How to bake ramekins: Reduce the baking time to 25 minutes. Place a cookie sheet under the ramekins to easily move ramekins to and from the oven.
